I replaced my Trek Navigator with Lync 3 because I wanted a faster bike. After 180 miles of riding around town I've noticed that I easily ride 10% faster and farther with the same or less effort compared to the Navigator. My favorite features of the bike are the integrated lights, reflective paint, and reflective tires. I often ride my bike out to dinner and it's not unusual to have to ride home in the dark. All of the aforementioned features ensure a safer ride home. I especially appreciate the integrated switches for the lights that allow the rider to switch on the lights while riding. I've used this feature many times, not only at night but also during the day when entering a heavily shaded area to improve my visibility. It's my view that every bike should at least have reflective paint and tires if not the integrated lights. When lights hit the paint and tires this bike lights up like a Christmas tree. I chose the Lync 3 over the 5 because 9 speeds are plenty for the roads I ride and I didn't want to have to maintain hydraulic brakes. In my case, less was more, so the Lync 3 was almost perfect. I say "almost perfect" because I had to make some minor modifications to the bike to suit my riding preferences. For one, the bike has no suspension, so I replaced the seat post with a suspension post and it's made a big difference in riding comfort. The other change I had to make was to the handlebar stem. I prefer a more upright riding stance and the OEM handlebars and stem were very uncomfortable for me. Swapping out the stem helped alleviate some of the discomfort but I was still steering with my fingertips so I also swapped out the handlebars with the Bontrager Rhythm Elite Highriser 31.8 Handlebar. Overall, after making the personal modifications I mentioned above, I love this bike!
